Precision Engineered
For high-performance in any environment.
Features.
Impact Rated.
Rigorously tested to meet or exceed the most stringent coastal codes, our impact resistant windows and doors protect against flying debris, driving rain, cyclic pressure, and temperature extremes.
Security Protection.
Window security, like that of a home, is comprised of many layers; both one-time measures and ongoing service. Henselstone combines multiple locking systems, reinforced glass, and expert installation to ensure its security ratings.
Energy Efficiency.
To achieve such a high thermal performance, our passive house windows are of a double or triple-pane design composed of special low emissivity metal-oxide coatings.
Noise Insulation.
Sound pollution is a common irritate that threatens the peace of a quiet home. By using sound rated installation materials on all our products, we can guarantee our ratings for the installed unit.
Impact Rated.
Testing Requirements.
Impact.
All impacted rated products pass the large missile impact test for wind zones up to 140 mph. The missile, a 9 lb piece of lumber, is shot at a certain speed into three specimens either in one, two, or three impact points. The missile cannot penetrate.
Pressure.
After the impact, specimens are cycled 9,000 times at varying positive and negative pressures up to 1.5 times the Design Pressure rating. Henselstone's standard Design Pressure rating for all windows and doors is 65 PSF positive and negative.

Efficiency Features.
Design.
Just as you would dress for the weather, your home must be outfitted the same. Some window designs are inherently more efficient than others depending on the climate. Casement windows, for example, are ideal in heavy wind prone areas. These units seal themselves off tighter when wind blows in toward the house.
Glazing.
Beyond the number of glass panes, the the insulation space is filled with Argon, a noble gas with a superior insulating performance relative to air of 150%. Henselstone sashes accommodate up to 2 inches of glazing panel thickness. This allows the use of security glass, noise pollution rated glass, and large picture glass in passive house applications.
Finishes.
Henselstone offers a variety of profiles to accommodate the specific needs and objectives of each project. We are currently the only US-based company able to provide to provide an 82 mm profile to accommodate triple insulated passive house glazing in hardwood, metal-clad wood, and UPVC.
Waterproofing.
Proper installation cannot be overlooked; even the most expensive window unit won’t perform effectively if it is not installed correctly. While framers or other trades install and waterproof most windows and doors, Henselstone utilizes only company trained installation technicians using state-of-the-art waterproofing, insulation, and noise-rated products. Proper flashing and caulking is done with a meticulous eye for detail, preventing a barrage of problems caused by water penetration.
Security Protection.
Henselstone windows feature a unique patented counter directional locking system. All doors and windows have multi-point locking systems as a standard.

Noise Insulation.
Using sound-rated installation materials for all our products, we achieve our goal of creating a comfortable sound environment inside no matter what noise pollution exists outside.
Insulation Performance.
In designing our sound-reducing windows, Henselstone refers to the Weighted Sound Reduction Index (RW), a measure for sound insulation performance of a single building element, such as windows. While typical windows are given a rating of 28 RW, our products offer multiple levels of sound ratings starting with 34 decibels (Rw) up to 50 decibels (Rw).
